Iraq\u2019s economic and financial conditions cannot support any new expansion in
\npublic sector salaries or hiring\u2014including converting contract workers to
\npermanent staff and reinstating dismissed security personnel, Kurdistan
\nDemocratic Party (KDP) official said on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Majid Shingali dismissed reports about permanent appointments and
\nreinstatements in the 2026 Federal Budget as \u201cdemagogic media rhetoric\u201d aimed
\nat exploiting public sentiment rather than reflecting economic reality.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe government is already unable to appoint graduates from
\nmedical and health colleges from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 classes, in addition
\nto this year\u2019s expected graduates,\u201d he noted, adding that the government should
\nfocus on creating employment opportunities in the private sector rather than
\nexpanding public sector hiring.<\/p>\n
