President Donald Trump posted on social media Sunday, “Iran better get moving fast or there won’t be anything left of them,” shortly after speaking with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. After Trump’s new threat against Iran, oil prices jumped. Brent crude oil is about $110 per barrel Monday. It was trading around $70 per barrel before the war started in late February. Rising oil prices generally result in higher gas prices.AAA reports the average price for a regular gallon of gas is $4.52. It was $2.98 on the day the war started.Over the weekend, tensions in the region escalated further. On Sunday, a drone strike sparked a fire at a United Arab Emirates nuclear power plant, a key U.S. ally in the Middle East. Authorities have called the incident an “unprovoked terrorist attack,” though no one has been blamed yet.Sources told the Associated Press that Israel is coordinating with the U.S. about possibly resuming attacks against Iran. This potential action has divided lawmakers, with some Republicans signaling support and some Democrats advocating for the U.S. to withdraw from the region entirely. “There’s nothing to suggest that the people in charge now are any different in terms of the regime’s goal to terrorize the world, destroy Israel, come after us. So what do you do next? You weaken them further.,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina.”I think the fastest way to end the war in Iran is just to stop digging a hole even deeper, and that’s what we should do right now,” said Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Maryland. Following Trump’s recent trip to Beijing, one question being asked is whether the U.S. needs China’s help to end the war with Iran. Both Graham and Van Hollen have expressed that they do not believe such assistance is necessary.Keep watching for the latest from the Washington News Bureau:

      WASHINGTON —

The United States and Israel are reportedly discussing the possibility of resuming attacks on Iran as tensions rise during the 12th week of the war and the fragile ceasefire remains in place.
