Contest featured two age-based categoriesThe rules were simple, with two categories: the “I Voted” category, which is for seventh through 12th grades, and the “Future Voter” category for kindergarten through sixth. Young artists celebrate their winning designs”I didn’t think I was going to win,” said Aubree Gross, a fifth grader whose design was selected for the “Future Voter” sticker. “It was a bit competitive, but it made it fun,” said high school junior Elise Stoner, who created the winning “I Voted” sticker. Gross described her design, saying, “Mine is a bear with a flag and some red and white stripes in the stomach.” Stoner explained her sticker as “a combination between like a city landscape, a country landscape and the Pennsylvania flag. So, it was like a mix.” Love of art inspired both entriesFor both students, entering the contest was an easy choice because of their love for art. “I just wanted to do it; I like drawing,” Gross said. “I’ve loved drawing since I was very, very little. As soon as I could color with crayons,” Stoner said. Winning designs will be shared with votersWhile some artistic creations take days, Gross said her design came together quickly. “How long did it take you to do the whole thing?” Gross was asked. “Like 20 minutes,” she replied. Stoner shared that her friends were supportive of her win. “They were really excited. One of them, like a couple of them, had entered, but they still thought I was cool that I won. Yeah, we were all excited together,” she said. Now, their designs will be handed out at polling places across Lebanon County, giving voters a unique keepsake of their participation in the election.

      LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. —

Two students from Lebanon County have created the winning designs in the county’s first-ever voting sticker contest, which featured nearly 150 participants showcasing their artistic skills.

Contest featured two age-based categories

The rules were simple, with two categories: the “I Voted” category, which is for seventh through 12th grades, and the “Future Voter” category for kindergarten through sixth.

Young artists celebrate their winning designs

“I didn’t think I was going to win,” said Aubree Gross, a fifth grader whose design was selected for the “Future Voter” sticker.

“It was a bit competitive, but it made it fun,” said high school junior Elise Stoner, who created the winning “I Voted” sticker.

Gross described her design, saying, “Mine is a bear with a flag and some red and white stripes in the stomach.”

Stoner explained her sticker as “a combination between like a city landscape, a country landscape and the Pennsylvania flag.
