According to a research update from shipping platform <a href=\"https:\/\/app.indexbox.io\/companies\/profile\/5691349\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Freightos<\/a> (NASDAQ: CRGO), analyst Judah Levine noted that benchmark trans-Pacific rates have risen by approximately $1,000 per forty-foot equivalent unit (FEU) since the outbreak of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indexbox.io\/store\/iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Iran war<\/a> in late February, and further increases are anticipated once seasonal demand strengthens.<\/p>\n<p>Levine reported that spot rates from Asia held steady last week at $2,800 per FEU to the West Coast and $4,300 per FEU to the East Coast, although daily spot prices on these lanes have begun climbing following mid-month price hikes. He suggested it is possible\u2014though less likely\u2014that the trans-Pacific peak season may have already started.<\/p>\n<p>Levine cautioned that year-over-year comparisons are unreliable due to tariff-driven frontloading and irregular start-and-stop patterns in trade flows. The National Retail Federation forecasts that peak season will begin in July, meaning demand could rise soon if it has not already.
