This has been a dream season for Northern Lebanon\u2019s baseball team. The Vikings have taken it somewhere they\u2019ve never been before.<\/p>\n
Top-seeded Northern Lebanon knocked off No. 4 Boiling Springs 6-4 in the District 3 Class 4A semifinals at Fredericksburg Thursday.<\/p>\n
Andrew Via went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Owen Fahringer drove in two runs to lead the Vikings.<\/p>\n
Northern Lebanon (23-1) has advanced to the district championship game for the first time. It will take on either No. 7 Big Spring or No. 3 East Pennsboro in the final at Penn Medicine Park Monday at 1:15 p.m.<\/p>\n
Blake Burdick and Aidan Long combined to pitch seven innings for the Section 4 champs. They allowed two earned runs.<\/p>\n
Northern Lebanon rallied from deficits of 2-0 and 3-2. Ryan Clemmer\u2019s RBI single in the third inning put the Vikings ahead 4-3. Fahringer\u2019s two-run single in the sixth provided some insurance.<\/p>\n
Boiling Springs (15-5) made it interesting in the seventh. The Bubblers cut the three-run deficit to 6-4 on Timmy George\u2019s RBI single. Long got Cody Schaffer to ground into a fielder\u2019s choice to end it.<\/p>\n
Northern Lebanon, which has clinched a spot in the PIAA tournament, lost in the semifinals in 2006 and 2023. The Vikings had five district wins in school history before making this run.<\/p>\n
