Iraq\u2019s cabinet is
\nexpected to be completed after the Eid Al-Adha holiday on May 27, either
\nthrough an emergency parliamentary session or following the end of the
\nlegislature\u2019s recess, an Iraqi lawmaker told Shafaq News on Saturday.<\/p>\n
According to Amer
\nAl-Fayez, the head of the Tasmeem Alliance, which is part of the Shiite
\nCoordination Framework (CF), political blocs and parties are currently holding
\ninternal meetings to discuss candidates for the remaining cabinet positions
\nbased on their political entitlements, noting that meetings of the CF have been
\nsuspended until after the Eid holiday.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, political
\nforces whose nominees failed to secure parliamentary approval are reviewing
\ndozens of alternative candidates, with blocs expected to submit three names for
\neach vacant ministry to Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi, who will select the preferred
\nnominee before presenting the candidates to parliament for a vote, a source
\ntold our agency.<\/p>\n
Earlier, a separate
\nsource informed Shafaq News that the CF had agreed to grant the prime minister
\nauthority to choose candidates for the Interior and Defense ministries from
\nlists containing 10 security and military figures, adding that names currently circulating
\nin the media are inaccurate.<\/p>\n
On May 14, the Iraqi
\nparliament approved<\/a> Al-Zaidi\u2019s government and ministerial program,
\ngranting confidence to 14 ministers out of 23, while nine ministries remained
\nvacant due to disputes over candidates and political quotas, including the Interior,
\nDefense, Higher Education, and Planning ministries.<\/p>\n
