Both sides must take their time and get it right. There can be no mistakes! Our relationship with Iran is becoming a much more professional and productive one. Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Tehran added that it was \u201cfinalising\u201d a memorandum of understanding to end the war.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Esmaeil Baghaei, the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, said: \u201cOur approach has been to draft a 14-point memorandum of understanding that includes the most important issues necessary for ending the war and matters that are fundamental for us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWe are in the final stage of finalising this memorandum of understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">However, Fars, a semi-official state-aligned Iranian news agency, reported on Sunday that the agreement being discussed would leave control of the strait in Tehran\u2019s hands, calling Mr Trump\u2019s claims about the waterway\u2019s reopening \u201cinconsistent with reality\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Tasnim news agency reported that if the US blockade was not completely lifted within 30 days, there would be no change in the strait.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Washington\u2019s negotiators reportedly threatened Tehran with a resumption of bombing if it refused the condition to <a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/world-news\/2026\/03\/30\/trump-considers-military-operation-seize-iran-uranium\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:surrender its highly enriched uranium;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;surrender its highly enriched uranium&quot;}\">surrender its highly enriched uranium<\/a> in the initial round of negotiations, despite Tehran\u2019s attempts to defer discussions on the topic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Military officials drew up potential plans for Mr Trump in recent days to strike Iran\u2019s nuclear stockpile, much of which is believed to be housed at the Isfahan nuclear facility.
