Malaysia is prepared to bring Israel before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over the alleged abduction and mistreatment of activists from the Gaza\u2011bound Global Sumud humanitarian flotilla, local media reported Monday. Amirudin Shari, chief minister of the state of Selangor, told a homecoming ceremony at Kuala Lumpur International Airport that Kuala Lumpur will initiate proceedings once lawyers complete collecting information and supporting evidence.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will not remain silent, we will not stop. While the legal team gathers all documentation on violations of international law, they (flotilla participants) were kidnapped more than once, they were tortured,\u201d Amirudin said. The flotilla, carrying over 400 international activists seeking to break Israel\u2019s naval blockade on Gaza, was attacked and detained by Israeli forces in international waters last week. The mission was organised in part from T\u00fcrkiye, where the boats departed from Marmaris.<\/p>\n
Diplomatic pressure and future action<\/p>\n
Amirudin said Malaysia will continue diplomatic pressure and demand the \u201cfull liberation\u201d of Gaza.
