{"id":130232,"date":"2026-05-25T13:28:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T13:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/130232\/"},"modified":"2026-05-25T13:28:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T13:28:08","slug":"iran-says-it-downed-hostile-drone-over-persian-gulf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/130232\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran says it downed \u201chostile drone\u201d over Persian Gulf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Iranian forces say they have downed a hostile drone over the strategic waters of the Persian Gulf after deploying newly unveiled Arash Kamangir systems, according to Iranian media. <\/p>\n<p>According to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/farsnews.ir\/M_r7726\/1779707941704737609\/%D9%BE%D9%87%D9%BE%D8%A7%D8%AF-%D9%85%D8%AA%D8%AE%D8%A7%D8%B5%D9%85-%D8%A8%D8%A7-%D8%A2%D8%B1%D8%B4-%D9%87%D8%A7%DB%8C-%DA%A9%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%86%DA%AF%DB%8C%D8%B1-%D8%B4%DA%A9%D8%A7%D8%B1-%D8%B4%D8%AF\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Fars News Agency<\/a>, the operation formed part of what was described as a \u201cdisplay of defensive power\u201d by the Islamic Republic, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.az\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">News.Az<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>Iranian forces said the Arash Kamangir systems, unveiled in recent hours, were used to successfully intercept and destroy a hostile drone over the Gulf.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the operation was carried out using a system with \u201cstealth capabilities\u201d, adding that it sent a clear message that \u201cno stealth drone can infiltrate the skies of the Persian Gulf anymore\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The technical and operational details of the system have not been disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>The incident comes amid continued vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iranian authorities said is proceeding according to plan.
