Discussions focused on recent developments in the region and a review of bilateral cooperation,\u201d Jaiswal wrote.<\/p>\n<p>STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD<\/p>\n<p>Chabahar Port remains key focus of India-Iran ties<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi reiterated that the Chabahar Port continues to be a major symbol of cooperation between India and Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking after the BRICS Foreign Ministers\u2019 Meeting in New Delhi on May 15, Araghchi acknowledged that US sanctions had slowed the port\u2019s development, but expressed confidence that India would continue its involvement in the strategic project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChabahar Port is one of the symbols of cooperation between Iran and India\u2026 It is now somehow slowed down because of the US sanctions. But I am confident this port would be like a golden gate for India to access Central Asia, the Caucasus and then Europe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>High-level engagements during India visit<\/p>\n<p>During his visit to India, Araghchi also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
