The State of Israel<\/a>‘s official Arabic-language X\/Twitter account posted the education statistics for the country’s Muslim population on Tuesday, citing the Central Bureau of Statistics.<\/p>\n

The information was posted to mark the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice), which also served as the reference point for the statistics.<\/p>\n

The post noted that the Israeli Muslim population has a growth rate of 1.8%, and accounts for nearly 19% of the country’s total population, with the plurality living in Jerusalem<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the post, over three-quarters of Israel’s nearly 409,000 Muslim students are eligible for their Bagrut<\/a> certificate (high school diploma), with almost 50,000 enrolled in Israeli higher education institutions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

An emphasis was made on the progress of Israel’s female Muslim students, who outnumber their male counterparts by more than double in enrollment for their first university<\/a> degree, a statistic the post referred to as “surprising information.”<\/p>\n

In addition to education, the post noted the overall participation of the Muslim population in the country’s labor force, which stands at just over 50%. In this case, males outperform females by more than 50%.<\/p>\n
