Speaking on Bloomberg TV on Friday, Wirth noted that kinetic activity has continued this week, with some incidents reported in the media and others not yet disclosed. He stated that multiple ships have been attacked while in transit, though such events do not occur daily.<\/p>\n<p>Wirth confirmed that <a href=\"https:\/\/app.indexbox.io\/indicators\/symbol\/chevron-corporation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Chevron<\/a> will not pay a toll to move its vessels through the strait. The company currently has six ships in the Persian Gulf waterway that are under charter, meaning they are owned by third parties. The decision to traverse the strait rests with the ship owner, Wirth explained.<\/p>\n<p>For oil trade to resume normal flow, ship owners and their insurers must feel confident that passage is safe\u2014regardless of whether a peace agreement between the US and Iran is reached in the coming days. Wirth emphasized that owners must be willing to send vessels back into the strait after some ships and crews have been trapped for months.
