X\/@PGSA_IRAN<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn accordance with the declared policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the PGSA does not have the authority to issue permits for the passage of ships from hostile countries, and in conditions of restrictions arising from war, it prioritizes the passage of ships associated with aligned governments,\u201d the agency added.<\/p>\n<p>The PGSA did not say how much each ship would be charged for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, with previous reports suggesting oil tankers could pay as much as $2 million to the Islamic Republic.<\/p>\n<p>The US has instructed vessels not to pay Iran\u2019s exorbitant fees, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent sanctioning the PGSA last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Iranian military\u2019s latest attempt to \u200bextort global \u200bmaritime trade \u2060is proof that Economic Fury has left the regime desperate for \u200bcash,\u201d\u00a0Bessent said, adding that anyone who provides money to Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps faces sanctions from the US.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"standard-img w-full w-full h-auto\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/https:\/\/media.zenfs.com\/en\/aol_ny_post_us_news_articles_123\/4a35e7f3c2841328dfd3954ee54b7eba.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Two people wade in the water along the Strait of Hormuz.
