The US backs Iraq’s efforts to place all weapons under
\nstate control, a senior White House official told Shafaq News on Friday,
\ndescribing the move as central to the country’s stability and future.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe U.S. stands with Iraqi efforts to fully realize their
\npotential as a force for stability, prosperity and security in the Middle
\nEast,\u201d he added, warning that Iranian influence could still undermine Baghdad\u2019s
\nability to pursue its national interests.<\/p>\n
