Tehran. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reached Iran’s capital Tehran on Saturday for further diplomatic talks on behalf of America. According to the Iranian semi-official news agency Tasnim, during the visit, Naqvi is scheduled to hold talks with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.<\/p>\n
Discussions are expected on the regional security situation, America-Iran relations, and recent tensions. Similarly, the semi-official Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA) has reported that Mohsin Naqvi has also brought a letter sent by Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.<\/p>\n
Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has not been seen much in public since taking office in March. This new phase of talks is happening at a time when Pakistan is trying to present itself in a mediator role, amidst regional tensions arising after the America-Iran war.
