\n Iraq and Syria’s civil aviation authorities have announced the temporary closure of their airspace as a precautionary measure following regional tensions. <\/p>\n

Iraq’s airspace will remain closed for a total period of 72 hours, its local aviation authority announced on Sunday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It also denied reports that a civilian aircraft had crashed inside its territory airspace, saying “no such incident had been recorded”.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Syria’s southern air corridors closed at 11:00 pm on Sunday, and are expected to reopen at 11:00 am on Monday, according to its local aviation authority.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The authority said the measure also includes the suspension of operational activities at Damascus International Airport.<\/p>\n

They added that the decision comes in light of recent regional developments and is “based on ongoing technical assessments conducted through the specialised risk management committee”.<\/p>\n
