Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) \u2013 President of the Iraqi Private Banks League (IPBL) Wadih al-Handal has revealed that representatives of the Iraqi banking sector returned from a two-day trip to London on Tuesday, with the goal of expanding economic and financial cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
The delegation included members from the Iraqi government, the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), and the private banking sector, local news outlet Shafaq News reported.<\/p>\n
The IPBL and the UK Foreign Office coordinated the visit, which included intensive meetings organized in collaboration with the law firm Hogan Lovells to discuss potential opportunities for financial partnerships and strategies to facilitate Iraqi private banks\u2019 integration into the global banking system.<\/p>\n
The initiative included a private discussion at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, also known as Chatham House, with officials from British and European banks, as well as renowned economists.<\/p>\n
