Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) \u2013 Representatives from the World Bank renewed on Sunday the bank\u2019s support for the Iraqi government\u2019s financial and economic reform objectives.<\/p>\n
The remarks took place during the meeting of the World Bank Division Director for the Middle East Department, Jean-Christophe Carret, and the Country Manager, Emanuel Salinas Munoz, with the Iraqi Finance Minister, Faleh Sari.<\/p>\n
The World Bank delegation also reaffirmed its commitment to providing technical assistance to Iraq to improve financial stability and promote long-term development, according to a statement released by the Finance Ministry.<\/p>\n
The meeting addressed prospects for technical and institutional cooperation, as well as assistance for Iraq\u2019s financial and economic reform initiatives.<\/p>\n
The group discussed cooperation with the World Bank to provide technical and advisory assistance for Iraq\u2019s next general budget.<\/p>\n
This assistance seeks to improve the effectiveness of financial planning, analyze expenditure priorities, and strengthen fiscal sustainability amid current economic changes.<\/p>\n
Sari stated that the Ministry of Finance aims to adopt financial reforms that would improve financial management, enhance non-oil income, and modernize banking, tax, and customs systems in accordance with the government\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n
