This brings the total number of Qatari LNG cargoes that have passed the chokepoint since the start of the conflict to five.<\/p>\n<p>Since February 28, a total of nine LNG vessels have exited the strait, including both Qatari and Emirati shipments. Separately, an empty LNG carrier entered the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indexbox.io\/store\/iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Strait of Hormuz<\/a> without incident and is scheduled to load at the UAE&#8217;s Das Island, based on Vortexa data cited by Reuters. Vortexa also noted that satellite imagery confirmed the <a href=\"https:\/\/app.indexbox.io\/companies\/profile\/632814\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">ADNOC<\/a>-owned Al Hamra carrier was near the Das Island terminal late last week after completing an inbound transit of the chokepoint. That tanker had returned from delivering an LNG cargo to India.<\/p>\n<p>The risk to tankers navigating the Strait of Hormuz has reshaped shipping operations in the Persian Gulf. According to Vortexa data from last week, the practice of sailing with transponders turned off\u2014previously associated mainly with Iran-linked vessels\u2014has now spread to commercial shipping of non-sanctioned oil and other goods that typically use the waterway. Dark transits through the Strait of Hormuz have accounted for 57% of all recorded transits over the period, peaking at 65.2% in May.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, oil and gas flows from the Gulf remain significantly below pre-war levels, despite the increased use of dark-mode operations. However, the number of tankers clearing the Strait of Hormuz has risen in the past couple of weeks. Some of these vessels were granted safe passage by Iranian forces following negotiations between the governments of the receiving countries and Tehran.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, Tehran stated that traffic in the Strait of Hormuz would resume, but shippers would be required to pay a toll to transit the chokepoint.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t1.
