President Trump told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6398115523112\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fox News<\/a> the US fired 49 Tomahawks and said the assault would pause briefly but resume Thursday night if Iran did not meet US demands in negotiations. He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6398112084112\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reportedly<\/a> threatened to &#8220;bomb the s&#8212;&#8221; out of Iran if a deal isn&#8217;t signed and said, per the <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/5917895-donald-trump-iran-peace-negotiations\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hill<\/a>, that Iran &#8220;will have to pay the price&#8221; for the stalled talks.&#13;\n                                    <\/p>\n<p class=\"storyParagraph\">&#13;<br \/>\n                                        Iran said it answered with two waves of attacks on US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain and declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to all traffic, a claim US officials rejected. The exchange followed strikes a day earlier tied to the downing of a US Apache helicopter near the strait. Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth framed the latest operation as leverage to force a peace deal on US terms, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newser.com\/article\/3c2c6d356a1e25b4d7edf66b2edba57d\/us-launches-a-second-day-of-strikes-on-iran-and-iran-fires-back-at-gulf-states-and-jordan.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AP<\/a> reports it &#8220;appeared more intense and wider&#8221; than the prior day&#8217;s strikes.
