Photo: EPA<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Pakistan\u2019s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that a deal aimed at ending the war in the Middle East is closer than \u201cever before\u201d and expected to be finalised within 24 hours. Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the agreement, followed immediately by technical-level talks next week.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">In a post on social media, Sharif said: \u201cWe would like to thank United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran for their ongoing commitment during the negotiations, and we extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in the region for their support\u201d.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The apparent breakthrough in negotiations comes after Iran exchanged fire with the US and Israel over three days this week, threatening to push the Middle East into full-scale war.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday an agreement \u201chas never been closer\u201d in a post on social media.
