It appears to offer Iran several benefits up front while extracting little in return.

It states that Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium, which is believed to be buried under rubble, must at minimum be diluted under international supervision. It also states that Iran shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons — a commitment it has made previously. But beyond stating that the U.S. and Iran will negotiate over Iran’s nuclear program, other commitments still need to be worked out.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

Much of the agreement would restore the status quo before the war, including ending hostilities, restarting talks between the U.S. and Iran over Tehran’s nuclear program, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, the crucial passage for the world’s oil and natural gas whose closure created a historic energy crisis.

With inputs from agencies

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has authorised the memorandum of understanding signed between Tehran and Washington, while making…

[4
34,51995,23687,51997,32207,236,51998,31497,2107,23435,49677,51994,25829,51992,12056,42611,51993,51999,51996,3620,346,50484,2289,69,27713,29822,9943,22323,15065,291,43824
post-166771","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tehran","tag-iran","tag-iran-agreement-terms","tag-iran-diplomacy","tag-iran-diplomatic-talks","tag-iran-foreign-policy","tag-iran-latest-news","tag-iran-leadership-","tag-iran-news-update","tag-iran-nuclear-programme","tag-iran-nuclear-talks","tag-iran-peace-agreement","tag-iran-resistance-front","tag-iran-sanctions-relief","tag-iran-supreme-leader-statement","tag-iran-supreme-national-security-council","tag-iran-us-deal","tag-iran-us-memorandum-of-understanding","tag-khamenei-approves-deal","tag-khamenei-latest-statement","tag-masoud-pezeshkian","tag-middle-east-crisis","tag-middle-east-peace-deal","tag-mojtaba-khamenei","tag-tehran","tag-tehran-washington-relations","tag-tehran-washington-talks","tag-trump-iran-deal","tag-us-iran-agreement","tag-us-iran-negotiations","tag-us-iran-relations","tag-west-asia-developments
["GET
