The explosive-laden vehicle that barreled into the preschool entrance of a Michigan synagogue<\/a> with 140 children inside is registered to a naturalized US citizen from Lebanon, according to a report.<\/p>\n

The car \u2014 driven by an unidentified antisemitic maniac who died after smashing through the doors of Temple Israel and hurling down the hallway in a targeted attack Thursday afternoon \u2014 is linked to a Lebanese resident of Dearborn, Michigan, law enforcement sources told Fox News.<\/a><\/p>\n

Police have only been able to confirm the vehicle\u2019s registration, as the suspect\u2019s body was burned beyond recognition when the car suddenly ignited in the brazen attack, sources told The Post.<\/p>\n

Sources added that the suspect\u2019s identity will need to be confirmed through dental records.<\/p>\n

The armed driver was found dead inside the car, which was loaded with mortar shells, after the temple\u2019s security opened fire when they plowed through the entrance, police and sources said.<\/p>\n

Miraculously, no students or staff members were harmed in the attack and were swiftly evacuated from the building.<\/p>\n

Police said the lead security guard was struck by the car and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is expected to recover.<\/p>\n

At least 30 emergency responders are also being treated for smoke inhalation at local hospitals, police said.<\/p>\n

The suspect\u2019s cause of death remains unclear.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t say what killed him at this point,\u201d Oakland Sheriff Mike Bouchard told reporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut security did engage the suspect with gunfire.\u201d<\/p>\n

While authorities said it\u2019s too early to determine a motive, the FBI confirmed the incident is being treated as a targeted attack on the Jewish community.<\/p>\n

Oakland County, outside of Detroit \u2014 where Temple Israel is located \u2014 has one of the largest Jewish populations outside of the New York area.<\/p>\n

It is also located about 20 miles north of Dearborn, which has the largest Muslim and Arab population in the US.<\/p>\n
