{"id":171408,"date":"2026-06-22T03:30:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T03:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/171408\/"},"modified":"2026-06-22T03:30:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T03:30:14","slug":"ahmed-al-sharaa-says-syria-can-play-a-constructive-role-in-resolving-lebanons-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/171408\/","title":{"rendered":"Ahmed al-Sharaa Says Syria Can Play a Constructive Role in Resolving Lebanon\u2019s Crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ahmed al-Sharaa, Syria\u2019s interim president, has said that his country can play a constructive role in addressing Lebanon\u2019s crisis by supporting the Lebanese government and facilitating dialogue among the country\u2019s political groups, including Hezbollah.<\/p>\n<p>The Syrian state news agency SANA reported on Sunday, June 21, that al-Sharaa made the remarks during an interview with Al-Mashhad television.<\/p>\n<p>He said his previous comments regarding Syria\u2019s potential role in Lebanon had been misunderstood, with some interpreting them as an indication of possible Syrian military intervention in Lebanese affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Sharaa stressed that Syria seeks to establish economic corridors with Lebanon rather than military routes.<\/p>\n<p>He referred to the historical trade ties between Damascus and Beirut, as well as between Homs and Tripoli.<\/p>\n<p>The interim president added that Damascus\u2019 discussions with the United States have focused on ending conflicts and addressing their consequences for both Lebanon and Syria.<\/p>\n<p>Lebanon has faced severe political, economic, and security crises in recent years.
