{"id":176955,"date":"2026-06-25T12:02:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T12:02:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/176955\/"},"modified":"2026-06-25T12:02:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T12:02:09","slug":"denmark-joins-uk-france-mission-in-strait-of-hormuz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/176955\/","title":{"rendered":"Denmark joins UK-France mission in Strait of Hormuz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Danish Parliament on Thursday approved the deployment of Danish contributions to a multinational mission in the Strait of Hormuz, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.az\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">News.Az<\/a> reports, citing <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cphpost.dk\/2026-06-25\/news\/round-up\/danish-parliament-approves-strait-of-hormuz-mission\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Copenhagen Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lawmakers agreed to send officers, interpreters and drone capabilities to the region as part of a multinational mission led by the United Kingdom and France.<\/p>\n<p>The mission is intended to help safeguard freedom of navigation through the strategically important waterway and support the European Union\u2019s naval operation in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Denmark\u2019s contribution will include a staff officer element, a drone unit and an interpreter team, with the total deployment consisting of approximately 10 personnel.<\/p>\n<p>The Danish military mission could also be expanded to include cyber capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Tensions in the region have remained high since the US and Israel launched airstrikes on Iran in late February. The strikes prompted retaliatory actions by Iran against Israel and several countries in the region that host US military assets.<\/p>\n<p>Iran and the US later reached a 14-point understanding through mediation by Pakistan.
