US Launches Strikes After Cargo Ship Attack<\/p>\n
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a post on X<\/a> that its forces conducted strikes against Iran on June 26 after Iran allegedly targeted the Singapore-flagged cargo ship \u201cM\/V Ever Lovely on June 25 with a one-way attack drone,\u201d adding, \u201cThe Singapore-flagged cargo ship was exiting the Strait of Hormuz along the Omani coast at the time of Iran\u2019s attack.\u201d<\/p>\n According to CENTCOM, U.S. aircraft targeted Iranian missile and drone storage locations, along with coastal radar sites, in response to the attack.<\/p>\n CENTCOM said Iran’s attack on the commercial vessel \u201cclearly violated the ceasefire\u201d and described it as \u201cunwarranted aggression against commercial shipping.\u201d The military added that Iran\u2019s actions undermined freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n Trump Calls Drone Attack A \u2018Foolish Violation\u2019<\/p>\n Earlier on Friday, a few hours before the military action, President Donald Trump had described the drone attack on a cargo ship as a \u201cfoolish violation\u201d of the ceasefire agreement with Iran.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Islamic Republic of Iran shot at least four One Way Attack Drones at Ships transversing the Strait of Hormuz. One of the Drones solidly hit the upper deck of a large and very expensive Cargo Carrying Ship,\u201d he wrote in a post on Truth Social<\/a>.<\/p>\n He added, \u201cDamage was done, but the Ship was able to proceed on its way. We knocked down three other Drones. Obviously, this is a foolish violation of our Ceasefire Agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n SPY, QQQ, DIA: What Retail Sentiment Says<\/p>\n At the time of writing, retail sentiment was \u2018bullish\u2019 for the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ<\/a>) and the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT<\/a>).
