The Directorate General of Shipping is closely monitoring the evolving situation in coordination with the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Ministry of External Affairs, Indian Navy, Indian Missions abroad and other concerned stakeholders to ensure the safety and welfare of Indian seafarers, it said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cConsidering the latest security situation in the Gulf region, in supersession of DGS Circular No. 09 of 2026 and DGS circular No. 31 of 2026 on the subject, the Directorate clarifies that there is no restriction for Indian ship owners\/managers\/RPSL agencies to continue the operation of ships and deployment of Indian seafarers in and out of Persian Gulf region by following the security protocols of the Coastal States and security agencies,\u201d the DGS said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cFurther it is advised that all Indian seafarers, Masters, Ship Owners, Ship Managers, Operators, RPSL Companies, and other maritime stakeholders to maintain caution while operating in the Persian Gulf region,\u201d it added. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The DGS asked for heightened security vigilance advising masters of vessels operating in or transiting through the Gulf region, including the Strait of Hormuz and adjoining waters to maintain heightened security awareness, closely monitor navigational warnings and other warnings or instructions received from security agencies, and implement all applicable ship security measures and company security procedures. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The shipping regulator said that all stakeholders shall continuously monitor advisories issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Directorate General of Shipping, Indian Missions abroad and other competent authorities and promptly report any incident involving Indian seafarers to the DG Communication Centre and Crew Branch. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It further asked to avoid circulating fake news\/videos and verify the authenticity of any news\/videos etc of security incidents onboard ships from the government sources and avoid circulating unverified news, social media posts and fake videos to protect the interests of Indian seafarers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The DGS also referred to a recent advisory issued by the Embassy of India in Tehran on 24 June 2026, which provides guidance for Indian nationals regarding travel and residence in Iran. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cStakeholders are advised to follow the instructions therein, including registration with the Embassy and monitoring official updates\u201d. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In case of any emergency assistance, seafarers have been asked to contact the MMDAC (DG Comm Centre). <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The contact points are: <\/p>\n<p>MMDAC (DG Comm Centre) Email- dgcommcentre-dgs@nic.in WhatsApp\/ Call- +91 8657549760 Alternate Numbers: +91 2222613606, +91 8657549760, +91 8657549752 <\/p>\n<p>Read More:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.etvbharat.com\/en\/international\/oil-tanker-hit-by-unidentified-projectile-in-strait-of-hormuz-maritime-agency-enn26062703560\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oil Tanker Hit By &#8216;Unidentified Projectile&#8217;
