{"id":191615,"date":"2026-07-05T20:28:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-05T20:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/191615\/"},"modified":"2026-07-05T20:28:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T20:28:13","slug":"netanyahu-says-no-reconstruction-in-gaza-as-israel-kills-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/191615\/","title":{"rendered":"Netanyahu says no reconstruction in Gaza as Israel kills two"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n      Netanyahu said there will be &#8220;no reconstruction in Gaza without dismantling and demilitarizing the Strip&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/news\/occupied-southern-lebanon-netanyahu-vows-israel-wont-leave\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a> said on Sunday that he would not allow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/news\/peace-council-launch-pilot-shelter-project-gaza-report\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reconstruction in Gaza<\/a> before Palestinian factions there including Hamas give up their weapons, as Israel killed two more people in the devastated territory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThere will be no reconstruction in Gaza without dismantling and demilitarizing the Strip,\u201d Netanyahu said at a weekly meeting of the Israeli cabinet. \u201cGazans should have freedom of choice: Whoever wants to leave should be able to do so, and whoever stays cannot threaten us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Netanyahu\u2019s remarks violate the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire plan brokered by the Donald Trump administration in October 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p>This came as Israel killed two people in Gaza in its latest strike on the territory.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Medics said the two people were killed when an airstrike hit a group of people at the Omar Al-Mokhtar road in the heart of the city, north of the enclave. Several others were wounded, they added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/news\/netanyahu-orders-israeli-army-conquer-70-gazas-territory\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Israel continues to occupy around 70% of the Gaza Strip<\/a>, while continuing deadly attacks in the territory, killing over 1,066 people there since the ceasefire deal was signed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The ceasefire deal stipulates the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip and the initiation of reconstruction while Palestinian factions disarm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Hamas and other Palestinian factions have been unwilling to give up their weapons without a full Israeli withdrawal and an end to attacks on the territory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Netanyahu\u2019s remarks come amid report <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/news\/trumps-board-peace-fund-empty-report\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">that Trump\u2019s \u201cBoard of Peace\u201d<\/a> intends to proceed with reconstruction in areas of Gaza under Israeli military control without linking this to the disarmament of Hamas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The second phase of the Gaza ceasefire is supposed to see the withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza, alongside reconstruction.
