The Free Iran Summit was held in Paris on June 20<\/a> and 21<\/a>, coinciding with the 45th anniversary of June 20, which marked the beginning of the Iranian people\u2019s nationwide resistance in 1981, the Day of Martyrs and Political Prisoners, and the anniversary of the founding of the National Liberation Army of Iran in 1987. The gathering brought together political figures from around the world who emphasized the urgent need to support the Iranian people\u2019s struggle for freedom and democracy, recognize the provisional government announced by the National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/a> and work toward the establishment of a democratic republic.
A number of international dignitaries addressed the first day of the Free Iran Summit, which was held in the presence of Maryam Rajavi<\/a>. PMOI freedom fighters at Ashraf 3 joined the summit via video conference.<\/p>\n

During her remarks, Maryam Rajavi said:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe path to Iran\u2019s freedom is not a foreign war. Nor is it waiting for the regime to collapse of its own accord. The path to Iran\u2019s freedom is not the fabrication of artificial, fake alternatives.
The real force for change is on the ground. It rises from a people who aspire to a free and just society.
\u201cIran\u2019s future, and peace and freedom in Iran, lie in the establishment of a democratic republic.
It is precisely for this purpose that the National Council of Resistance of Iran has announced the formation of a Provisional Government to transfer sovereignty to the people through free elections for a Constituent Assembly and a National Legislative Assembly within six months.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charles Michel, Former European Council President<\/p>\n

Charles Michel <\/a>characterized the Iranian regime as a \u201cvulnerable\u201d entity on \u201cborrowed time,\u201d noting that its reliance on terror is a sign of weakness. Michel concluded by urging the international community to abandon the status quo and support the organized democratic resistance, asserting that \u201cthe hour of choice is now\u201d to stand for a free Iran.<\/p>\n

Boris Johnson, Former British Prime Minister<\/p>\n

Change must come from within,\u201d Johnson<\/a> declared, drawing historical parallel to the fall of apartheid in South Africa. He championed the NCRI as the clear democratic path for the country, praising Maryam Rajavi\u2019s Ten-Point Plan<\/a> as the essential framework for a future, free and democratic Iran.<\/p>\n

John Bercow, Former Speaker of the UK House of Commons<\/p>\n

Condemning the regime\u2019s crimes, John Becow<\/a> said: You can murder a person. You can murder people. You can murder hundreds of thousands of people. But the one thing you can\u2019t do is murder an idea. You cannot murder an idea!
And the idea of freedom\u2014the idea of freedom has lived in men\u2019s and women\u2019s hearts from the very inception of civilization.<\/p>\n

Petre Roman, Former Prime Minister of Romania<\/p>\n

To secure a completely democratic transition, Roman<\/a> praised Maryam Rajavi\u2019s Ten-Point Plan as a comprehensive, cohesive, and essential roadmap. He emphatically stressed that this strategic vision provides the Iranian people with the absolute certainty needed to dismantle the current system. Roman concluded with a steadfast, powerful message of solidarity, confidently asserting that the NCRI will soon achieve a permanently free Iran.<\/p>\n

General James L. Jones, Former US National Security Advisor and Former Commander of NATO in Europe<\/p>\n

We should remind them that Mrs. Rajavi has never asked for foreign military intervention to create regime change, and she\u2019s always maintained that the Iranian people will achieve that goal themselves.<\/p>\n

Carsten M\u00fcller, Member of the Federal Parliament of Germany<\/p>\n

M\u00fcller emphasized the urgent need for unified European backing for the Iranian Resistance. He praised the sacrifices and endurance of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran<\/a> over decades and expressed his decisive support for Maryam Rajavi\u2019s democratic Ten-Point Plan for future Iran.<\/p>\n

Baroness Nuala O\u2019Loan, Member of the UK House of Lords<\/p>\n

The regime in Iran does not want today\u2019s events because they demonstrate the level of support internationally for the campaign for freedom and democracy in Iran.<\/p>\n

Naike Gruppioni, Member of the Italian Parliament<\/p>\n

Gruppioni <\/a>described Mrs.Rajavi\u2019s political platform as the most credible alternative to the current dictatorship. Pledging concrete political action within Italian and European institutions, Gruppioni committed to pushing for harsher sanctions, demanding the release of political prisoners, and advocating for the NCRI\u2019s democratic project.<\/p>\n

John Baird, Former Canadian Foreign Minister<\/p>\n

Baird <\/a>emphasized that true political legitimacy belongs to the organized domestic resistance and the citizens who braved brutal crackdowns during the nationwide uprisings in January 2026. Endorsing the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) under the leadership of Madame Maryam Rajavi, he praised the coalition\u2019s 40-year history of resilience and its comprehensive Ten-Point Plan.<\/p>\n

Judy Sgro, Member of the Canadian Parliament<\/p>\n

Despite the unprecedented repression, Sgro<\/a> expressed renewed confidence in the Iranian people\u2019s impending freedom, praising the resilient Resistance Units and the pivotal leadership of women under Maryam Rajavi. Sgro firmly dismantled the regime\u2019s narrative that a democratic alternative does not exist, denouncing it as deliberate disinformation designed to fuel international appeasement.<\/p>\n

Free Iran Summit, Day 2, June 21, 2026<\/p>\n

On the second day of the Free Iran Summit, Maryam Rajavi emphasized in her speech:<\/p>\n

Today, at one of the most critical junctures in Iran\u2019s history, the decisive question is:<\/p>\n

What is the solution to the crisis? How can\u2014and how must\u2014this regime be brought down?
The central issue is this: change in Iran requires a force capable of bringing about that change.
It requires a force that can fight under the harshest repression; a force that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the people\u2019s uprising and remove the Revolutionary Guards from the path of the Iranian people.
This is why I say that with such an organized Resistance<\/a> on the ground and with an alternative that has been tested for forty-five years through the fiercest domestic, regional, and international trials, the equation of Iran has found its answer. And this comes at a time when the ruling theocracy is weaker and more desperate than ever before.<\/p>\n

General Joseph Keith Kellogg, Former United States Special Envoy to Ukraine and Russia<\/p>\n

General Kellogg <\/a>recalled the NCRI\u2019s 2002 revelations exposing the Iranian regime\u2019s secret nuclear facilities at Natanz and Arak, asserting that this ground-level verification remains the bedrock of holding the regime accountable. Gen. Kellogg stated that a weakened, denuclearized regime is one the Iranian people can finally confront and overthrow on their own terms.<\/p>\n

Bob Blackman, British MP, and Chair of the British Committee for Iran Freedom<\/p>\n

The ruling religious dictatorship has reached a historic dead end. Unable to resolve Iran\u2019s deep political, economic, and social crises, it relies on executions<\/a>, repression, terrorism, regional warmongering, hostage-taking, threats to international shipping, and the pursuit of nuclear weapons<\/a> in a desperate attempt to prevent the next uprising and to force the world into continued appeasement.<\/p>\n

Kathleen Depoorter, Member of the Parliament of Belgium<\/p>\n

Ms. Depoorter <\/a>emphasized that the events of the past six months have proven definitively that the current clerical regime cannot be reformed from within and must be completely replaced. She noted that Iran\u2019s future will be dictated from within by the highly organized PMOI Resistance Units who have broken the barrier of fear through continuous street protests.<\/p>\n

General Tod Wolters, Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander<\/p>\n

Gen. Wolters<\/a> emphasized that the widespread presence of active Resistance Units across all 31 provinces of Iran provides the ultimate factual evidence that the domestic population is prepared to stay the course.<\/p>\n

In the conclusion of the two-day summit, participants accompanied Maryam Rajavi on a visit to an exhibition commemorating June 20, 1981<\/a>, as well as the Day of Martyrs and Political Prisoners.
