The decision was made after a series of successes in recent years and exceptionally high viewership figures.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation “Kan” and Keshet 12 will continue their collaboration to select Israel’s representative for Eurovision 2027, which will be held in Bulgaria. This was announced this morning (Sunday) by the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation. The representative will be selected as part of the program “The Next Star for Eurovision” by Keshet 12 and “Teddy Productions”, which is expected to air this fall.

The decision to continue with this model came against the backdrop of Israel’s significant achievements in the competition in recent years: Noam Baten’s second place in Eurovision 2026 in Austria, Yuval Rafael’s second place (and first place in the audience vote) in 2025, and Eden Golan’s fifth place in Sweden in 2024. “Kan” noted that the cooperation, in which Keshet bears a significant portion of the delegation’s expenses, allows for significant budget savings and the channeling of resources to create original Israeli content within the corporation.

The process of selecting the Israeli song will continue to be carried out according to the procedures introduced for Eurovision 2026, with the aim of ensuring equal opportunities. To prevent early identification of creators, the songs will be submitted to the professional committee without the creator’s voice, with the possibility of using AI technology to record the vocals in demo versions. The committee, which will be composed of professionals from “Kan” and a representative from Keshet, will filter approximately 40 songs in the first stage, from which the winning song will be selected.

Israel at Eurovision

Israel debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1973 and has won the competition four times ( 1978, 1979, 1998, 2018).
