The committee found that the rising<br \/>\nreservoir had submerged both the damaged bridge and the adjacent dirt road,<br \/>\nmaking it impossible to reopen the route through the temporary road or carry<br \/>\nout backfilling work in the flooded area.<\/p>\n<p>The committee<br \/>\nrecommended using the Al-Adhaim Dam road or the Tikrit-Kirkuk road as temporary<br \/>\nalternatives until a replacement bridge is completed and the route is<br \/>\npermanently reopened, ensuring public safety and maintaining traffic flow<br \/>\nbetween Tuz Khurmatu and Saladin&#8217;s provincial capital.<\/p>\n<p>In February, the <a href=\"https:\/\/shafaq.com\/en\/society\/Iraq-s-Saladin-bridge-failure-strands-residents-post-flooding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">collapse<\/a> of Al-Zarka Bridge, compounded by<br \/>\nheavy rainfall and flash floods, disrupted the main route linking Tuz Khurmatu<br \/>\nand Amerli with Tikrit.
