July 14 (Reuters) – The UAE Ministry of Defence said on \u200bMonday that two national \u200ctankers were targeted by two Iranian cruise missiles in \u200bthe southern lane \u200bof the Strait of Hormuz \u2060in Omani territorial \u200bwaters, killing one Indian \u200bcrew member and wounding eight others, including four seriously.<\/p>\n

The ministry \u200bsaid fires broke out \u200bon both tankers but had \u200cbeen \u2060brought under control. It condemned the attack as a serious breach of \u200binternational law \u200band \u2060said the UAE retained its full \u200bright to respond \u200band \u2060take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty \u2060and \u200bsecurity.<\/p>\n
