{"id":210733,"date":"2026-07-17T09:32:30","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T09:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/210733\/"},"modified":"2026-07-17T09:32:30","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T09:32:30","slug":"police-arrest-man-from-bat-yam-in-connection-to-japanika-restaurant-attacks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/210733\/","title":{"rendered":"Police arrest man from Bat Yam in connection to Japanika restaurant attacks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An 18-year-old from Bat Yam was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/crime-in-israel\/article-902678\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">arrested<\/a> on Thursday night on suspicion of being involved in throwing a fragmentation grenade at the Japanika branch in Kiryat Ono.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, July 13, a fragmentation grenade was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/crime-in-israel\/article-902547\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">thrown<\/a> at the Kiryat Ono branch as part of the wave of grenade attacks on Japanika chain branches in central Israel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">In the span of a few hours, police announced two grenade explosions, a pipe bomb attack, and an attempted arson. Three of the incidents targeted branches of the Japanika restaurant chain, owned by businessman and Beitar Jerusalem owner Barak Abramov.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The suspect is expected to appear before the Tel Aviv Magistrate&#8217;s Court on Friday, where police will request his detention be extended to facilitate the ongoing investigation into the incidents.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Tuesday morning,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/tags\/israel-police\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Israel Police<\/a> said that the thrown grenades were stolen IDF equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Israel Police <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/crime-in-israel\/article-902422\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">arrested Musli crime family<\/a> boss Yossi Musli on Tuesday night in connection with a series of attacks targeting the Japanika restaurant chain, according to Israeli media reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">For years, brothers Yossi and Eli Musli have managed to stay ahead of police, who suspect them of involvement in a long series of murders and attempted murders targeting their rivals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The criminal organization they lead began in southern Tel Aviv and developed into a powerful network that some have described as a global empire.
