When closed, it has a shorter and wider rectangular shape, replacing the narrow, elongated format associated with Samsung’s previous Fold models.

Its 5.5-inch cover display is considerably smaller than the screens found on most conventional smartphones. It is also smaller than the 6.5-inch cover displays on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and the new Fold8 Ultra.

Despite the figure on paper, the phone felt larger in the hand because of its wider proportions.

The three-phone foldable lineup includes the Galaxy Z Flip8, with Israeli launch prices beginning at NIS 4,000. (credit: Tzahi Hoffman)

Opening the Fold8 reveals a 7.6-inch internal display, which remains significantly larger than a regular smartphone screen, although it is smaller than the Ultra model’s 8-inch panel.

The wider format is the main attraction. The cover display has a 16:10 aspect ratio, while the internal screen can be used in a horizontal 4:3 format or a vertical 3:4 configuration. These proportions make the device more suitable for reading, video, productivity, and multitasking.

Both screens use Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology and offer refresh rates of up to 120Hz. The internal display has a resolution of 2,448 by 1,848 pixels, compared with 1,972 by 1,248 pixels on the cover display.

Lavender leads the Fold8 color lineup

Samsung’s main color for the Fold8 is lavender, a pale purple shade. The device will also be sold in cream and graphite, while a pistachio version will be available exclusively through online purchases.

The Fold8 measures 9.7 mm thick when closed and 4.5 mm when open. It weighs 201 grams.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, Qualcomm’s customized processor for Samsung devices and the same platform used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The device includes 12GB of RAM and will be available with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of internal storage.

Samsung equipped the Fold8 with a 4,800mAh battery, along with 45W wired charging and 20W wireless charging. Magnetic charging is not built directly into the phone, meaning users will need a compatible case.

Two 50MP rear cameras

Samsung reserved its most advanced camera system for the Fold8 Ultra.

The standard Fold8 has two 50-megapixel rear cameras, along with separate 10MP front-facing cameras for the cover and internal displays.

The Ultra adds a third rear camera and a 200MP main sensor.

Flex Titanium debuts on the Fold8 Ultra

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra introduces Samsung’s Flex Titanium display structure, which the company developed after seven generations of foldable devices.

The technology combines two titanium-based components: a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate. Samsung says the structure provides a balance of thinness, flexibility and durability while also making the screen crease less visible.

The titanium-alloy film sits beneath the OLED panel and supports the display from within. According to Samsung, it offers 20 times the mechanical stiffness of the polymer film traditionally used in foldable screens.

A flexible titanium plate sits beneath the film and supports the display module. Its construction allows the module to bond more tightly to the plate by reducing air gaps between the display and the adhesive.

Samsung says this structure provides more stable support when the phone is open while retaining the flexibility required for repeated folding.

The Fold8 Ultra has an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X internal display, along with a 6.5-inch cover display. Both offer refresh rates of up to 120Hz.

The device measures 8.9 mm thick when closed and 4.1 mm when open. It weighs 214 grams.

200MP camera and larger battery

The Ultra’s rear-camera system includes a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

The front-facing cameras on the internal and external displays are both 10MP.

Like the standard Fold8, the Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. It comes with 12GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB.

Samsung increased the battery capacity to 5,000mAh, up from 4,400mAh in last year’s model.

Wired charging has also been increased from 25W to 45W, while wireless charging rises from 15W to 20W.

Galaxy Z Flip8 receives a slimmer design

Samsung’s third new foldable is the Galaxy Z Flip8, which retains the compact clamshell design of its predecessor.

The device closely resembles the Galaxy Z Flip7 and includes a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X internal screen and a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover display.

It is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2600 processor, with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage.

Battery capacity remains unchanged at 4,300mAh, although wired charging has increased from 25W to 45W. Wireless charging is also supported.

The Flip8 measures 6.1 mm thick when unfolded and weighs 180 grams, down from 188 grams for the previous model.

Israeli prices and launch offers

Samsung has offered free storage upgrades during several previous flagship launches. This year, customers will instead receive a 50% discount on the cost of upgrading to the next storage tier.

The phones’ starting prices are generally lower than those announced during last year’s launch, although the difference varies by model and storage capacity.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will cost NIS 6,900 for the 256GB version, compared with NIS 7,450 for the equivalent model last year.

The 512GB version will cost NIS 7,600, down from NIS 7,900, while the 1TB model will cost NIS 8,950, compared with NIS 9,000 last year.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 will cost NIS 4,000 with 256GB of storage, down from NIS 4,100. The 512GB version will cost NIS 4,750, compared with NIS 4,550 for last year’s model.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 will cost NIS 6,100 for the 256GB version, NIS 6,900 for 512GB and NIS 8,200 for 1TB.

Samsung is also offering buyers a free six-month subscription to Google AI Pro, which includes access to Gemini.

Prices at Israeli retailers

Prices at Samsung’s Sunny-operated stores match the company’s official Israeli pricing.

Partner is offering the 256GB Fold8 Ultra for NIS 6,849, the Flip8 for NIS 3,999 and the Fold8 for NIS 6,049.

Pelephone is selling the corresponding models for NIS 6,899, NIS 3,999 and NIS 6,099, respectively.

GoMobile is offering the 256GB Fold8 Ultra for NIS 6,399, the Flip8 for NIS 3,699 and the Fold8 for NIS 5,699.

Samsung Electronics unveiled three new foldable smartphones at a launch event in London on Wednesday, led by a…

[33
36887,63040,37816,1446,63039,37,1178,35151,947
post-218260","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-israel","tag-cellphone","tag-galaxy","tag-gemini","tag-google","tag-iphone","tag-israel","tag-london","tag-samsung","tag-technology
["GET
