{"id":220067,"date":"2026-07-23T17:37:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T17:37:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/220067\/"},"modified":"2026-07-23T17:37:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T17:37:08","slug":"iraq-iran-ink-four-key-bilateral-agreements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/220067\/","title":{"rendered":"Iraq, Iran ink four key bilateral agreements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) \u2013 Iraq and Iran inked four agreements on Thursday focusing on transportation, rail connection, and municipal support, as well as government administration and human resource training.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreements were signed during meetings in Tehran between Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, with an emphasis on improving regional networks and collaborative work across borders, according to the Prime Minister\u2019s Office (PMO).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Representatives from the transportation ministries of both countries signed a bilateral agreement designed to establish a structure for the international road transit of goods.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To improve rail network connectivity, the two sides signed an agreement to extend a railway connecting the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, to the Iranian city of Kermanshah. This railway will traverse the border city of Khosravi in Iran and Iraq\u2019s Khanaqin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, Tehran and Baghdad became sister cities after signing municipal twinning agreements and cooperative public administration training efforts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two countries also inked an agreement on administrative training, education, and human resource development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The geopolitical achievement takes place as Iraq promotes an expansive economic strategy.
