The IDF said Monday that troops operating in southern Lebanon found two drawings of Adolf Hitler<\/a> inside a private home in the village of Taybeh.<\/p>\n

According to Arabic-language IDF spokesperson Ella Waweya, known as \u201cCaptain Ella,\u201d the drawings were signed with the name Hassan Haidar and were believed to belong to a larger portfolio of artwork.<\/p>\n

The military said it suspected the portfolio had been prepared for a school operating under Hezbollah<\/a>\u2019s auspices, describing the drawings as evidence of Nazi ideology being promoted in Shi\u2019ite schools in southern Lebanon.<\/p>\n

The IDF did not provide further evidence in the post to identify the artist or to establish the portfolio\u2019s connection to Hezbollah<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The discovery comes as a US-brokered ceasefire<\/a> between Israel and Hezbollah broadly holds and Israel begins testing a phased withdrawal from parts of southern Lebanon. Under a US-backed pilot program, the Lebanese Army has begun entering Froun, Srifa and Zawtar al-Gharbiya, with Israel so far withdrawing from Zawtar.<\/p>\n

It remains unclear whether the process will lead to wider withdrawals, while Israeli forces continue to hold a security zone several kilometers inside Lebanon.<\/p>\n
