However, after the<br \/>\nUnited States withdrew from the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran in 2018 and<br \/>\nreimposed sanctions, Iraq was no longer able to settle the payments in foreign<br \/>\ncurrencies. The restrictions led to the accumulation of the funds within Iraq’s<br \/>\nbanking system and limited how the money could be used.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"2026-07-27T15:43:06+00:00 font Enable Reading Mode A- A A+ Shafaq News- Baghdad Iraq and the United States have reached…\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":224964,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":"","_share_on_mastodon":"0"},"categories":[14],"tags":[152,15075,34,94,64352,256],"class_list":["post-224963","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-iraq","tag-breaking","tag-debt","tag-iran","tag-iraq","tag-iraq-and-us-agree-on-goods-based-payments-for-iran-gas-debt","tag-usa"],"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@iran\/116992802000738953","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/224963","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=224963"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/224963\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/224964"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=224963"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=224963"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=224963"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
