{"id":226458,"date":"2026-07-28T17:59:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T17:59:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/226458\/"},"modified":"2026-07-28T17:59:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T17:59:16","slug":"cyera-to-acquire-israeli-ai-startup-oasis-security-in-1-billion-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/226458\/","title":{"rendered":"Cyera to acquire Israeli AI startup Oasis Security in $1 billion deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Israeli-founded data security unicorn Cyera announced on Tuesday that it has agreed to buy local cybersecurity startup Oasis Security in a deal valued at $1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Cyera said the acquisition will bolster its data security platform by integrating data protection with Oasis\u2019s technology for managing and securing non-human identities, as companies rapidly integrate artificial intelligence agents and autonomous tools into existing software systems and workflows, which increases data leakage and other risks.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2022 by Danny Brickman, CEO, and Amit Zimerman, CPO, both veterans of Unit 81 \u2014 the Israel Defense Force Intelligence Corps\u2019 Technological Unit that supplies cutting-edge technologies to the security establishment \u2014 Oasis was created to build a software platform for managing and securing machine identities.<\/p>\n<p>The platform helps companies discover, manage and control access to their systems from non-human accounts, such as AI agents, as non-human identities will soon outnumber human users, the startup said.<\/p>\n<p>Backed by large venture capital funds Accel, Cyberstarts, Sequoia Capital and Craft Ventures, Oasis has raised more than $195 million in funds to date.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tSign up for the Tech Israel Daily<br \/>\n\t\t\tand never miss Israel&#8217;s top tech stories\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tBy signing up, you agree to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/terms\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">terms<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom day one, we recognized that non-human identities would become one of the key security challenges of the AI \u200b\u200bera,\u201d said Brickman. \u201cWhile Cyera redefined data security, we redefined identity governance for the AI \u200b\u200bage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Businesses adopt agentic AI or virtual AI agents into their work processes that act similarly to smart assistants, using reasoning to make real-time decisions and complete complex tasks, such as collating and analyzing vast amounts of data, but with minimal human input.<\/p>\n<p>\t<a href=\"https:\/\/static-cdn.toi-media.com\/www\/uploads\/2026\/01\/\u05d9\u05d5\u05ea\u05dd-\u05e9\u05d2\u05d1-\u05d5\u05ea\u05de\u05e8-\u05d1\u05e8-\u05d0\u05d9\u05dc\u05df-\u05d0\u05d5\u05d4\u05d3-\u05e7\u05d1.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3729700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/\u05d9\u05d5\u05ea\u05dd-\u05e9\u05d2\u05d1-\u05d5\u05ea\u05de\u05e8-\u05d1\u05e8-\u05d0\u05d9\u05dc\u05df-\u05d0\u05d5\u05d4\u05d3-\u05e7\u05d1-640x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n\t\tCyera cybersecurity startup founders Yotam Segev (left) and Tamar Bar-Ilan. (Courtesy of Cyera)<\/p>\n<p>As part of day-to-day workflows, autonomous AI agents execute commands, modify files and access sensitive company data often without governance, oversight, or identity management. The number of non-human identities among Fortune 500 companies has surged by 480 percent in the last six months alone, Cyera said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe old security model was built for humans, not machines, and AI agents are breaking whatever access controls are left,\u201d said Cyera founder Yotam Segev. \u201cThe AI \u200b\u200bera is transforming how organizations protect their data as AI agents are arriving faster than teams can govern them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cyera was founded in 2021 by Segev, CEO, and Tamar Bar-Ilan, CTO, who met during their Israeli army service, during which they built and ran the cloud security division for the IDF\u2019s unit 8200.<\/p>\n<p>Exposed to the challenges of securing data in the cloud, Segev and Bar-Ilan decided after their military service to develop and build a unified data security platform to provide businesses and organizations with a complete view of where their data \u201clives, how it\u2019s used and how to keep it safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery security decision begins with understanding two things: what data needs protection and who, or what, is seeking to access it,\u201d said Segev. \u201cOasis enables us to unite these two worlds on a single platform, giving organizations the level of control they need to adopt AI securely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cyera, which was last valued at $12 billion, has been on an acquisition spree over the past two years. In May, Cyera announced a deal to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/six-month-old-israeli-startup-is-bought-by-cyber-unicorn-cyera-for-about-50-million\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> buy<\/a> Israeli AI startup Genie Security after purchasing Israeli startup Ryft in April, and snapping up local startups Otterize and Shape AI in June, and Trail Security in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\t<a href=\"https:\/\/static-cdn.toi-media.com\/www\/uploads\/2026\/02\/iStock-2229177564.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3752844\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/iStock-2229177564-640x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n\t\tIllustrative: Hand holding AI agents\u2019 virtual interface with data analytics, automation, and machine learning icons.
