{"id":228309,"date":"2026-07-29T20:18:06","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T20:18:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/228309\/"},"modified":"2026-07-29T20:18:06","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T20:18:06","slug":"bp-adds-tpao-to-kirkuk-oil-field-redevelopment-partnership-in-iraq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/228309\/","title":{"rendered":"bp adds TPAO to Kirkuk oil field redevelopment partnership in Iraq"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/worldoil.com\/news\/2026\/7\/28\/bp-adds-tpao-to-kirkuk-oil-field-redevelopment-partnership-in-iraq\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">(World Oil)<\/a> \u2013\u00a0bp\u00a0has agreed to bring T\u00fcrkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortakl\u0131\u011f\u0131\u00a0(TPAO)\u00a0into its\u00a0Kirkuk redevelopment\u00a0project in northern Iraq, with the Turkish national oil company acquiring a 15% interest in BP Energy Company of Kirkuk Limited (BP ECKL).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oilandgas360.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1049078 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/BP-2.jpg\" alt=\"bp adds TPAO to Kirkuk oil field redevelopment partnership in Iraq- oil and gas 360\" width=\"724\" height=\"482\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The agreement, signed during Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi\u2019s official visit to T\u00fcrkiye, builds on a strategic cooperation memorandum of understanding signed by bp and TPAO earlier this year. The transaction follows ConocoPhillips\u2019 previously announced acquisition of a 42% interest in BP ECKL. Upon completion, bp will retain a 43% interest, alongside ConocoPhillips (42%) and TPAO (15%), subject to regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n<p>The Development and Production Contract covers an initial phase targeting more than 3 Bboe from the Baba and Avanah domes of the Kirkuk oil field, as well as the adjacent Bai Hassan, Jambur and Khabbaz fields in federal Iraq. The contract area also includes additional exploration potential.<\/p>\n<p>The redevelopment is being carried out under a contract with Iraq\u2019s North Oil Company (NOC) and North Gas Company (NGC), which currently operate the fields.
