{"id":235066,"date":"2026-08-04T07:48:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T07:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/235066\/"},"modified":"2026-08-04T07:48:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T07:48:10","slug":"israel-enters-fascinating-season-as-migratory-birds-arrive-at-hula-lake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/235066\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel enters \u2018fascinating season\u2019 as migratory birds arrive at Hula Lake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first eight flamingos of the autumn migration season landed at Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund\u2019s (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/culture\/article-903233\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KKL-JNF<\/a>) Hula Lake last weekend, joining newly arrived shorebirds, songbirds, shanks, ruffs, godwits, grey herons, and spoonbills, KKL-JNF announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Larger flocks of migratory bird species are expected to pass through the area in the coming weeks. As the days begin to consistently shorten, migratory birds receive an environmental signal prompting them to begin their journey.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/hula-lakes-wildlife-acclimation-center-spreads-its-wings-650089\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hula Lake<\/a> is a major stopover site along the global bird migration route. It provides migratory birds flying between Europe and Africa with a critical place to rest, refuel on the lake\u2019s rich food resources, and remain in a safe environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Plain Tiger butterflies, which also migrate seasonally, have joined the many newly arrived bird species.<\/p>\n<p>More than 500 million birds representing at least 390 species pass through the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/archaeology\/article-893017\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Hula Valley<\/a> in the Upper Galilee every year. Hundreds of thousands of people gather annually to witness the migration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cIt is always exciting to watch the lake fill with life, especially as, during August, the first storks will begin passing through Hula Lake on their migration,\u201d said Inbar Shlomit Rubin, field manager at KKL-JNF\u2019s Hula Lake Park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cWe are now in a fascinating season,\u201d Rubin added. \u201cOn the one hand, the last of the nesting birds are still caring for their young.
