The \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day\u201d star commented on X that thinking the way Fetterman does is not a sound way to represent the American people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere\u2019s the problem. When you put another country above the USA, when you are in the U.S. government, no matter what you say, you aren\u2019t working for the American people,\u201d the actor <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MarkRuffalo\/status\/2085053115003240612\" rel=\"nofollow\">wrote on Wednesday<\/a>. \u201cGo be a lobbyist. Register as a lobbyist for a foreign government and make your living that way, but don\u2019t take a paycheck from the U.S. taxpayer. Get out of representing the people of the USA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Here\u2019s the problem. Register as a lobbyist for a foreign government and make your living that way, but don\u2019t take a\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/S0AWasmhcJ\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/S0AWasmhcJ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mark Ruffalo (@MarkRuffalo) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MarkRuffalo\/status\/2085053115003240612?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">August 5, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday\u2019s episode of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/media-platforms\/politics\/jon-stewart-john-fetterman-interview-israel-stance\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cThe Weekly Show,\u201d<\/a> Stewart pressed the Pennsylvania senator about threatening to leave the Democratic Party if it adopted an \u201canti-Israel\u201d stance. The host called it a \u201cweird line\u201d to draw in the sand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, for you, you could agree with them 90%, but Israel is the red line,\u201d Stewart asked, while Fetterman replied, \u201cAbsolutely. I can\u2019t ever turn my back to Israel after where it\u2019s at.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut that is not our country,\u201d Stewart shot back. \u201cYou\u2019re saying that these candidates may\u2019ve had great ideas for our economy, they may want to do the same exact thing you want to do, in terms of getting money out of politics, they may want to increase the social safety net, they may want to change the balance of power from capital back to labor, but if they don\u2019t agree with you on Israel, you don\u2019t want them in your party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fetterman tried to turn the conversation to the Democratic Socialists of America members and how they were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/media-platforms\/politics\/zohran-mamdani-clarifies-netanyahu-arrest-capabilities-sparks-debate\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">seeping more into his party<\/a>. Stewart pointed out that the DSA is just an organization and not a party to appear on an election ticket. He also noted that some of the most prominent members of the DSA \u2013 like New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani \u2013 don\u2019t agree with all the platform points, so Fetterman threatening to drop the party altogether over Israel feels odd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m assuming there\u2019s probably things in the Democratic platform that you disagree with,\u201d Stewart said. \u201cBut you don\u2019t disavow the entire thing.
