{"id":237587,"date":"2026-08-05T22:30:05","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T22:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/237587\/"},"modified":"2026-08-05T22:30:05","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T22:30:05","slug":"israel-successfully-tests-arrow-system-as-defense-upgrades-accelerate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/237587\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel successfully tests Arrow system as defense upgrades accelerate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Israeli Missile Defense Organization (IMDO), in cooperation with the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the IDF, and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) successfully completed a test of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/defense-and-tech\/471573\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Arrow Weapon System<\/a> on Wednesday. The test was part of a program to upgrade the system, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Taking place in central Israel, the Ministry confirmed that a test had taken place after reports of people in Ashdod seeing an interception over the city circulated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis test,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/tags\/israel-aerospace-industries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">IAI<\/a> President and CEO Guy Bar Lev, \u201cput the system up against future threats and generated data that our engineers will use to build the next generation of aerial defense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Senior officials from the US MDA participated in the test, said the ministry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">According to Bar Lev, the Arrow system is \u201cthe most advanced ballistic missile defense technology in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"An Iranian missile is displayed during a rally marking the annual Quds Day, or Jerusalem Day, on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan in Tehran, Iran April 29, 2022. (credit: MAJID ASGARIPOUR\/WANA (WEST ASIA NEWS AGENCY) VIA REUTERS)Israel remains in &#8217;emergency mode&#8217; even as war lulls<\/p>\n<p>Defense Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/defense-news\/article-904380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Israel Katz<\/a> said the test served as proof of Israel\u2019s defensive strengths.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cThe Arrow system has proven itself in war, successfully intercepting numerous threats from Iran and other arenas and protecting Israel&#8217;s citizens,\u201d he said, adding that Israel is \u201cconstantly upgrading its capabilities, and [staying] ready at all times, for both current and future threats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Ministry of Defense Director General, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram also highlighted the system\u2019s use during Operation Roaring Lion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cEven now,\u201d he said, \u201cfollowing our success in the Iran campaign, we remain in emergency mode, dramatically accelerating production and upgrading the system&#8217;s capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cThanks to decisions made over the past year, Israel&#8217;s interceptor stockpile keeps growing, backed by new and constantly evolving capabilities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Since its inception in the 1980\u2019s, the development of the program has been led by the Defense Ministry, through the IMDO and Directorate of Defense Research &amp; Development (DDR&amp;D), and executed with the US MDA, the statement said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Defense companies IAI, Tomer, Elbit Systems, and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems all have a role in the development of the systems, such as the development of its fire control system, radar detection array, and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Currently, the Arrow 2 and Arrow 3 systems are utilized by Israel.
