Speaking in parliament, Zelenskyy sought to explicitly link the two conflicts, describing the Russian and Iranian regimes as \u201cbrothers in hatred.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAggressors don\u2019t end wars because they suddenly want to,\u201d he said. \u201cThey stop when they can no longer continue. We must act now so that a future generation will say these leaders acted when it mattered.\u201d<\/p>\n
Talking up Ukraine\u2019s own military prowess, Zelenskyy warned: \u201cIf evil wins, the evolution of war will cross any distance on earth. No ocean will help. No desert. No mountains.\u201d<\/p>\n
Earlier Tuesday, Starmer told Zelenskyy: \u201cIt\u2019s really important that we are clear that the focus must remain on Ukraine.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s obviously a conflict in Iran going on, in the Middle East, but we can\u2019t lose focus on what\u2019s going on in Ukraine and the need for our support.\u201d<\/p>\n
Starmer said Russian President Vladimir Putin must not benefit from the conflict in Iran whether \u201cthat\u2019s oil prices or the dropping of sanctions.\u201d<\/p>\n
The U.K. and Ukraine agreed a defense partnership Tuesday aimed at boosting the two countries\u2019 ability to push back against drones.
