The US military on Wednesday said that Iran\u2019s ability to strike back against Israeli and American attacks is \u201cdeclining\u201d. The US Central Command Chief Admiral Brad Cooper said that while Iran has launched more than 500 ballistic missiles and more than 2,000 drones, it is facing a \u201clingering launch capability\u201d due to US attacks on its launchers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are seeing Iran\u2019s ability to hit us, and our partners, is declining, while our combat power, on the other hand, is building. And my overall operational assessment is that we are ahead of our game plan,\u201d said Cooper.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has indicated that the third wave of American attack against Iran is going to be the biggest and is yet to come. Cooper, at the same time, said that American attacks have struck nearly 2,000 targets across Iran since Saturday and destroyed 17 Iranian ships, including a submarine.<\/p>\n
\u201cMore than 50,000 troops, 200 fighters, two aircraft carriers, and bombers from the United States are participating in this operation, and more capability is on the way,\u201d Cooper said.<\/p>\n
US officials seek to boost weapons output<\/p>\n
The Trump administration is set to meet on Friday at the White House with executives from major US defence contractors to discuss speeding up weapons production as the Pentagon seeks to restock supplies following strikes on Iran.<\/p>\n
According to a report by Reuters, companies such as Lockheed Martin and Raytheon have been invited to attend. The meeting will focus on urging defence manufacturers to ramp up output more quickly.<\/p>\n
The meeting suggests that Washington is trying to replenish weapons stocks depleted by the attacks on Iran and the wars in Ukraine and Gaza. However, in a social media post earlier this week, Trump said that the US has a \u00a0\u201cvirtually unlimited supply\u201d of US munitions and that \u201cwars can be fought \u201cforever.\u201d<\/p>\n
