{"id":243533,"date":"2026-08-10T14:56:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T14:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/243533\/"},"modified":"2026-08-10T14:56:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T14:56:11","slug":"hezbollah-still-operating-on-the-civil-level-in-pilot-zones-despite-laf-control","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/243533\/","title":{"rendered":"Hezbollah still operating on the civil level in pilot zones despite LAF control"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hezbollah\u2019s civilian arm has continued to operate in Zawtar al-Gharbiyeh, a pilot zone under the protection of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/middle-east\/article-903033\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lebanese Armed Forces<\/a>, according to the Alma Research and Education Center.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, Hezbollah\u2019s Islamic Health Organization was able to operate within the zone only days after the LAF deployed to the village. Since then, the center has identified the presence of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/tags\/hezbollah\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hezbollah<\/a>-affiliated Wataawanou Association (the Cooperate with One Another Association). The association claims to provide water, food rations, and medical treatment to displaced persons, though it is closely affiliated with Hezbollah.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The association established a temporary center as early as July 29, according to the center, where it hosts the village council and provides services to support the returning residents of the village.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Hezbollah\u2019s own Al Manar TV reported in late July that the association carried out its work in \u201ccooperation with the social work sector of Hezbollah,\u201d and the head of the association, Afif Shuman, also known as Abu al-Fadl, was previously identified by the center as a Hezbollah operative. Following the initial report by the center, Shuman confirmed to L\u2019Orient Today that the group does \u201csupport the resistance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other Lebanese media sites, including L\u2019Orient Today, have also frequently described the group as linked to Hezbollah and the financial company Whish Money, which is licensed by the Central <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/business-and-innovation\/article-904986\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bank<\/a> of Lebanon, suspended the association\u2019s account in 2025 for failing to provide documentation verifying the origins and destination of donations.<\/p>\n<p>The center claimed that the operation of Wataawanou was to further create the conditions needed for Hezbollah to hold social and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/business-and-innovation\/banking-and-finance\/article-904992\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">economic influence<\/a> and dependency.
