{"id":246816,"date":"2026-08-12T22:36:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T22:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/246816\/"},"modified":"2026-08-12T22:36:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-12T22:36:15","slug":"iraq-to-end-foreign-military-presence-by-october-1-says-pm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/iran\/246816\/","title":{"rendered":"Iraq to end foreign military presence by October 1, says PM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi said the country will be free of foreign military forces from October 1, following the completion of the international coalition\u2019s mission and the withdrawal of its troops. <\/p>\n<p>Al-Zaidi made the remarks during a meeting with Brad Cooper, commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Prime Minister\u2019s Office, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/timeskuwait.com\/iraq-to-be-free-of-foreign-military-presence-by-oct-1-says-iraqi-premier\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Times Kuwait<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>He reaffirmed <a href=\"https:\/\/news.az\/news\/what-exactly-did-iraqi-authorities-say-they-uncovered\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Iraq\u2019s<\/a> commitment to the agreed timetable, under which September 30 will be the fixed and final date for ending the military mission of the international coalition in Iraq and completing the withdrawal of its forces.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Zaidi said October 1 would mark \u201ca new day\u201d in the course of the Iraqi state, with the country free of foreign military forces and having completed its national sovereignty over its territory.<\/p>\n<p>He said Iraq had continued to develop its security and military capabilities to enable it to protect its own security and stability.
