Two demonstrators were injured when security forces dispersed the<br \/>\nrally.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani <a href=\"https:\/\/shafaq.com\/en\/society\/Basra-denies-diverting-electricity-share-to-Dhi-Qar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">denied<\/a> that<br \/>\nany part of the province\u2019s electricity allocation would be diverted to<br \/>\nneighboring Dhi Qar, pointing out that the two provinces had discussed<br \/>\nelectricity and grid problems. <\/p>\n<p>Iraq\u2019s parliament approved <a href=\"https:\/\/shafaq.com\/en\/Iraq\/Lawmakers-endorse-reforms-to-ease-Iraq-s-power-shortages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">measures<\/a> on July 27 to address<br \/>\nthe electricity crisis, including reopening corruption cases involving the<br \/>\nElectricity Ministry dating back to 2005 and reviewing contracts and projects<br \/>\nsuspected of wasting public funds.
