2 oil tankers hit by drones as they transited Strait of Hormuz\n <\/p>\n
Two tankers owned by Abu Dhabi\u2019s state-owned oil and gas company ADNOC were attacked Thursday evening while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, the company said. It added that the attack caused no injuries and that \u201cthe situation has been brought under control.\u201d<\/p>\n
The British military\u2019s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center said two vessels were reported to have suffered minor damage when attacked by drones while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. It did not identify them as the ADNOC ships, but it appeared to be the same incident. <\/p>\n
The UAE’s Foreign Ministry blamed the attacks on Iran and said they were a \u201cflagrant violation\u201d of the United Nations’ principles of freedom of navigation. <\/p>\n
\u201cTargeting commercial shipping and using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of economic coercion or blackmail represents acts of piracy by Iran\u2019s Revolutionary Guard Corps,\u201d the Foreign Ministry said. <\/p>\n
There was no immediate response from Iran. <\/p>\n

Yemen\u2019s military said its forces thwarted Houthi attacks early Friday in southwestern Yemen amid ongoing fighting with the Iran-backed rebels.<\/p>\n
Forces affiliated with Yemen\u2019s internationally recognized government said in a statement that dozens of Houthis were killed and injured in fighting that disrupted plans to attack military reinforcements in Taiz province with drones, explosives and artillery.<\/p>\n
