Comedian Theo Von<\/a> is sounding the alarm on President Donald Trump<\/a>‘s war with Iran.<\/p>\n

Von is one of the “manosphere” podcasters<\/a> who helped Trump win a second term in the White House. Von, who has pushed for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, hosted Trump on his podcast, “This Past Weekend,” in August 2024.<\/p>\n

But like other “manosphere” podcasters, Von has grown critical of Trump<\/a> over his handling of the Iran war and the Epstein files. In his latest podcast episode<\/a>, Von interviewed geopolitics expert Xueqin Jiang and criticized Trump for starting a war with Iran on Feb. 28.<\/p>\n

“Why are we putting our troops there? It doesn’t seem like we have a real interest,” Von said. “I know there’s the rumors of weapons of mass destruction again. There’s rumors of nuclear weapons held by Iran, but I think people, a lot of people, feel like we’ve fallen for that trap before in Iraq and in Kuwait.”<\/p>\n

“It could just be the same sort of fool’s errand again,” he added.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted how Trump vowed to not start any foreign wars while campaigning for his second term.<\/p>\n

“Also Trump, our president, said that we would not go to war with Iran,” Von added.<\/p>\n

Jiang said that Iran war went against “human logic.”<\/p>\n

“Everyone’s looking at Donald Trump. It’s like, the war is lost already. Just make peace with Iran. Just get out of there. And what Trump is doing is doing\u2014 he’s doing TACO,” Jiang said, referring to the TACO nickname meaning “Trump Always Chickens Out.”<\/p>\n

“Like one day he’s like, ‘We’re gonna end your civilization,’ and the other day he’s like, ‘Let’s make peace, guys. Let’s just be friends.’ And the next day he’s like, ‘No, I’m gonna nuke you now.’ Next day, he’s like, ‘Oh, you know what? I didn’t really mean that,'” Jiang said. “It’s just weird.”<\/p>\n

Von agreed, arguing that the war feels “pointless” and “bizarre.”<\/p>\n

Throughout his campaign, Trump promised he would not get involved in any new foreign wars. He broke that campaign promise on Feb. 28, when the U.S. and Israel launched a military attack against Iran. He has claimed that the U.S. attack was to prevent Iran from attaining a nuclear weapon, but he has provided no evidence for that claim.<\/p>\n

Since then, Iran has repeatedly shut down the Strait of Hormuz. This has caused oil and gasoline prices to skyrocket, leading Americans to criticize Trump over the war.<\/a><\/p>\n
