The UAE’s<\/a> defense ministry announced that its air defense systems detected a missile threat on Tuesday, in a post on X\/Twitter.<\/p>\n

The ministry said, “If any sounds are heard, they are the result of air defense<\/a> interceptions.”<\/p>\n

Reuters confirmed via the defense ministry that two ballistic missiles were launched from Iran, and that one fell inside and another outside of territorial waters.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both missiles were reportedly targetting marine traffic.<\/p>\n

The UAE’s interior ministry later sent a phone alert, saying that the situation was currently safe and to resume normal activities.<\/p>\n

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei denied accusations that Iran had launched a missile strike on the UAE in a statement early Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

The statement called on regional countries to refrain from making \u201cbaseless accusations\u201d against Iran, citing what it described as the \u201congoing evils of the US and the Zionist regime against regional peace and security,\u201d including what Tehran claimed were \u201cnumerous\u201d false-flag attacks.<\/p>\n

This comes amid tensions with Iran<\/a> as the Memorandum of Understanding expired, with US President Donald Trump laying claim to the Strait of Hormuz<\/a> with a declaration marking it as “US territory.”<\/p>\n

Later on Tuesday, Trump said that there are “no talks or conversations going on, or scheduled, with the Islamic Republic of Iran.”<\/p>\n

“The Naval Blockade remains in full force and effect. The Hormuz Strait is open and operating.
